Is Network Marketing a Fraud?

Amy Posner says it best, “Network Marketing is the industry that folks love to hate.”

I get it; I had my own set of preconceived ideas about network marketing before I took a real look.  I thought it was hokey.  I thought it unprofessional.  I thought people who did network marketing probably couldn’t do anything else.  I didn’t have a very high opinion of network marketing or network marketers.  Not a high opinion at all.  But a lot can happen in twenty years…a lot.

In the last twenty years Network Marketing turned my financial picture around.  Needless to say, that made me a believer in the industry.  If it can do that for me, it can do that for you.  I don’t hold any particular special abilites.  I get up and put my pants on just like you do every day. I just learned how the business works.

Do you ever wonder at the way some people seem to come out of nowhere and rise to the top of your company?  Then there are the people who spend years working, working hard, yet they never seem able to get out the starting gate.

Here’s what we’ve learned in our years of entrepreneurialism and business coaching, it is NOT genius (take a look at those who walk across your stage, no it’s not genius ;-o).  It is also not money – financial wealth did not create their success.  Of course, we could always say it was luck, but that reeks of sour grapes.

Here’s what it is.  Successful people are deliberate about their surroundings and their circumstances.  They are deliberate about where they put themselves.  Creating the best environment for your efforts to pay off makes complete sense.  It isn’t rocket science or hard to do.  After all, it’s a lot easier to not eat cookies if you don’t have them around.  It’s even easier if you plan good regular meals and eliminate the cookie jones altogether.
