Goals Make You Sick
Is it too scary to jump in, because your goals might seldom, or never come true? Do you feel you have to give 110% to anything you start — and there’s just no time right now? Do your goals usually feel out of reach and self defeating?
But wait: goals are simply something we aim toward. Goals are something we define and direct our energy toward. Humm, so they are not right or impossible, they simply exist and receive something from us (energy).
But if that’s a goal, what is the impossible part? Perfection.
It’s the idea of giving 110% and the notion we are to be without flaws. No room for shortcomings. The goal is lost before we begin. All you have is your personal best. It can’t add up to more than 100% and none of us can give that all the time. But we can certainly bring our best – whatever it is at the moment – to anything.
If perfection is the goal, you’ve failed before you start. If you strive for excellence or your best at any given time, you’re bound to reach your goals (successes) and fall short of your goals (failures). That’s because you’re not perfect.
Failures are a part of success. Embrace them. It’s your mistakes that are the issue. An error in judgment because of lack of information or proper focus is the mistake. Failures are part of the process; mistakes happen because we don’t learn from the process of success and failure.
Leave perfection behind; spectacular failures equal massive success. Watch what that does for your self esteem.

Thanks for this message. It’s really pertinent right now, and just what I needed. It’s helping to keep me focused and it’s ok not to be perfect–I’m much too hard on myself!
