How To Make ‘NO’ Not Hurt
I have bad news. Maybe.
The NOs are part of the business. They are not going away. Everyone doesn’t want to join your business (just like everyone doesn’t want to eat at your favorite restaurant). We are all different.
Now for the Maybe.
If someone doesn’t want to eat at your favorite restaurant does that in any way diminish the restaurant? No, of course not.
The restauranteur knows that everyone won’t want to eat at her restaurant. She is cooking for a particular kind of taste. Someone who wants spicy or fish or Mediterranean or whatever her specialty may be. She’s not trying to serve the world. So it would be silly for her to feel rejected, right?
Is it time to take a lesson from the restauranteur? Is it time to stop taking NO personally? What do you think? Let me know here or join the conversation on FB.
