Personal Note...

We’re in! …and love it. We’re over the boxes – I’ve set up my new office and we’re back to work but not as usual.  My moments of contemplation literally soar with eagles, osprey, seagulls and birds I’ve yet to get to know.  And there are otters and seals fishing and playing right outside my office window.  Actually after watching the seals and otters (especially the otters) I don’t think they ever do anything that they don’t make play.  What amazingly wonderful creatures!

I’ve been fortunate enough to live on the water before (Malibu California) so this is a dream come true for me …twice!  I’d say I’m lucky but there have been some really good lessons along the way that I’ve been willing to learn and respect.  I’d rather think of it as “providence on my side.”

But living exactly where I want to live is not the only wonderful thing going on for us … Our Savvy Sponsoring group is growing again.  We have Rick Brake an old friend from our MLM days joining us as an associate coach.

Rick, Norine and I worked together at Excel.  Rick’s bio is now on the web site so you can read all about him there…but let me say this he was in the top 25 income earners (at least!) for over two years in Excel before he retired and it is an honor and privilege to have him on board with us as a coach.  I know Rick to be a tremendous sponsor, mentor and coach.  I’ve been lucky to call him a friend and am so delighted to welcome him to our Savvy Sponsoring team.

Welcome aboard Rick we look forward to making more magic!

A quick note about my feature article.  We’ve just completed a number of complimentary coaching calls for Sunrider and Arbonne but I came away after listening to some of you and your approach to your businesses frustrated at best and really distressed.  In short what I heard from too many of you are businesses doomed to fail. Hard words but I would not be playing fair with you if I didn’t call it like it is.

I hope many of you take to heart my feature article.

Warmly

Congratulations Tina...

I joined the Savvy Sponsoring program in March of 2006.   I knew I needed to do something differently to become consistent in volume and then grow to the next level.  December and January I had worked the hardest I’d ever personally worked my business only to have our volume drop from $25,000 to just over $19,000.  By March we ended with $26,898 a $300 increase over Feb.

But then in April it happened after only 2 months in Savvy Sponsoring Strategies.  We not only got over that $30,000 hump, we also hit first step Regional Vice President Qualifications with over $42,000 in volume. That is a 55% volume increase in only one month.  We worked smarter and accomplished more in less time.  We are right on track to do that again and complete Regional Vice President in May.  I look forward to driving my Arbonne Mercedes Benz and the nice pay increase.

I credit this HUGE BUT CONSISTENT GROWTH to Savvy Sponsoring Strategies.  Right away I learned the importance of scheduling and the smart way to design my calendar.  I get so much more done in less time now.

I have developed many skills to more effectively coach my team to success.  I have been able to bring in some of the open communication we experience as part of our Savvy Sponsoring training.  My team is then able to learn from and encourage one another just as we do each week at Savvy Sponsoring.   This may not seem like a big deal, but it has been HUGE for my team.  Everyone is given opportunities to have a sense of ownership in our team.  Norine does an incredible job of demonstrating how to do this on our group calls.

My effective communication skills have improved tremendously which has helped in both my business and personal life.  How can you effectively share any opportunity or coach a person to success if you don’t even know what it is they desire or their current circumstances?

For me the best part of this class has been the one on one coaching time and the accountability with Norine.  Norine is very encouraging, yet she tells it like it is, and she always holds me accountable.  I hang up from my coaching gym times excited and ready to implement all I’ve learned.  Often I get right on the phone to members of my team excited to share the great new tools with them.

I am not done here.  I am excited to take my business and my life to the next level of growth and success with another program.   I am encouraging every member of my team to take the class I took.  If you are reading this as part of a decision process, I encourage you to take that step.  It is an investment, but what good things aren’t. Sometimes you need to make that investment to take things seriously and implement what you’ve learned.  Isn’t that what we tell our prospects? Besides that, like with our Biz Builders that come in and follow the system, my pay increase has well over covered the cost of the course only 2 months into the training.

Congratulations Mary Ann...

Since starting the savvy coaching 6 month program I have learned how
to control my calendar in a way that allows me to focus on my business
without sacrificing my family!

This has given me so much freedom and I am getting much more done in all areas of my life! Thank you!

Because I have "focused time" on my business I am experiencing real
results with an increase in my monthly income.  What the coaching has provided for me is a step by step process to be successful in life as well as business.  Prior to this I was trying to build a business in between
my family obligations.  By setting store hours, I know when and where I
need to be focusing my energy.

I would recommend this program for anyone who needs to be more
organized, find the time to do your business and have time for yourself
and family.

Thank you,

Mary Ann Purnell R.N.

In doing our complimentary coaching calls for the Sunrider Savvy Sponsoring program and the Arbonne Savvy Sponsoring program with both Norine and Candye I have had the opportunity to talk with a lot of you in the last couple of weeks.  But I’ve come away feeling really disturbed about a theme that emerged from … well more of you than I’d like to hear.

One of the issues many of you carry is about spending money for the Savvy Sponsoring program or anything else.  Ladies and gentlemen if you’re going to grow a viable sustainable business you absolutely need to spend money.  The bigger question is not how to avoid spending money but how to get the best return on your investment.

One woman I spoke with whose glass is definitely half empty (as opposed to half full) asked me if the course was tax deductible.  Great question and we were asked it a few times.  But what blew me away was the next thing out of her mouth was she was going to get a tax professional to do her taxes this year so she’d know how to take all these deductions and then she’d do her taxes herself after that!

Yikes!

Please please all of you need to recognize you are not in business to save money by being chief cook and bottle washer!  You are in business to make money. MAKE MONEY. You don’t make money doing your own taxes.   You make money doing money making activity driven by an umbrella system that covers EVERY facet of your business.

You don’t just have a way to get your product out.  You don’t just have a way to recruit. You don’t just have a way to train a recruit.  You have a system that ties everything together so that each step you take (that’s each and every step) is tied you your annual goal, your three year plan and your five year plan.

You act like, feel like, and look like an entrepreneur.
Not your employee.

I’m not advocating that you spend money without thought and planning.  Not at all. How we allocate money at Savvy Sponsoring is an important part of our business plan as it should be yours.

But ladies and gentlemen if you think you can build a financially successful sustainable business without a great support team – well ask yourself how is it working so far?

If you’re not making money in your business right now…if your business isn’t growing the way you want it to I’ll go on record as saying at least of one of these reasons has a lot to do with it:

  1. You’re trying to do it all yourself.  You spend valuable time doing your own books, packing your own orders – all the admin stuff someone else could do – instead of reaching out and talking to someone new.  And how do we make money in network marketing?
  2. You have no boundaries – the phone rings and regardless of what you’re doing you run to answer it.   “What if it’s a member of my team?” or “What if it’s a prospect calling me back?”  How is your family handling that?  How attractive does that look to people you’re trying to recruit?
  3. You’ve worked with your upline, you’ve been to company trainings but still things are not coming together.  Something is missing for you.  Let me ask you this, what would an athlete who wanted to be the best in his/her sport do?  Hire a coach.  What would a CEO of a corporation do if the bottom line wasn’t getting better, hire a consultant or a coach (or go broke!).

Here’s the bottom line problem as I see it.  Most of you are looking at your businesses through the work itself.  You are not looking at your business through the process of business.  Michael Gerber author of The E Myth would say you are technicians not entrepreneurs.  Ouch!  To quote Gerber, “…most people who go into business don’t have a model of a business that works, but of work itself..”

I challenge you to build yourself a vision of where you want your business to be in a given period of time and then come back to your everyday steps and make sure that each one of them builds toward your vision.

If you don’t know how to do that then get busy and get help somewhere, somehow to make that happen.  And for those of you out there that think the only way you can do that is to spend money you don’t have – were you on my complimentary coaching call last month?

My goal is to be as much of a stimulus as possible to make network marketing one of the most respected industries in the world.  But that can only happen if we each clean up our personal stuff.  If you want to make your network marketing business work then you need to think and act as an entrepreneur not as an employee.

When you’re ready to make real changes to the way you approach your business
When you’re ready to make real changes to the way you think
When you’re ready to make real changes to your bottom line

I’ll bet our success on yours.

Look forward to seeing you on one of our calls or in one of our programs soon, details below.
