Greetings Everyone,
I hope your weekend was lovely and you're rested and ready to go this Monday.
Certainly my weekend was fun and at times exhilarating (and very very noisy). We just started the demolition of parts of our home as the first steps in a remodel. Pretty exciting time! Walls are gone and new spaces are waiting to be created.
And speaking of "walls are gone" that's what I'd like to talk to you about for just a couple of minutes today.
Only these walls are the ones you carry within you. Now don't panic, this is not going to be one of those motivational spiels...I promise you always nuts and bolts.
What I mean is that you, me all of us build the box you work in and typically stay in it unless you make a real decision to change something. Then and only then do you get a different kind of result...because you've taken a different kind of action.
In my experience as I worked to Make Money In MLM I found that I got myself into "ruts" and it was really difficult to get out of them. And worse, the ruts typically weren't money maker ruts. Never that easy huh.
I'll give you an example. My calendar might say I was supposed to be making follow up calls....but I was folding the laundry, or talking on the phone to downline or a friend ... not to the people I was supposed to be following up with.
Any number of things could get in my way. I wasn't fussy about what got in my way. Anything could because I simply was not focused!
I did eventually learn to "stay focused on my calendar." But recently I read or heard this story (I think it's from Chris Barrow http://www.milliondollarcoachingpractice.com one of my mentors) about a very successful insurance salesman.
This insurance salesman was audaciously financially successful (something I think all of us deserve to be). He was in the multi-million dollar a year category. The obvious question is, "How does that happen to one person but not to others."
Here's what he did and it's so simple:
He set a timer to go off every 15 minutes and when it went off he asked this question:
"Is what I'm doing right now going to sell a policy?"
If the answer was no, he passed it off to someone else to do or simply put it down and immediately changed his activity to one that would sell a policy.
The moral of the story is a major principle to ensure a successful business.
You know this, but only when what you do directly translates into making money, such as talking to people about your business, follow up calls or selling your products will you generate cash in your business. But it is so much more. When you do this you show by example your downline exactly what they are to do.
So the "wall" to breakdown in order to Make (More) Money In Your MLM today is to ask yourself,
"Is what I'm doing right now an activity that will make me money?"
That timer might be a great addition to the desktop. Either desktop by the way. If you're a techi you might get it on your computer desktop, if not an old fashioned kitchen timer will do. The trick is don't get hung up keep it simple and make it an easy to use tool.
The Make Money in MLM Challenge:
New habits are not formed easily. They take time and focus and some demolition of old habits. I dare you (or as the kids would say when I was training horses), I double dare you. Get the timer and try it. Make a change in how you handle your time and keep yourself on track. Great results come from taking that first different action.
Tear down that old wall and create new space to Make (More) Money In MLM. The next time your calendar says it's time to make money. Set a timer to go off on a regular basis throughout the scheduled time and keep yourself on tract doing what makes you money in your MLM business.
It isn't hard to Make Money In MLM you just have to be willing to demo your walls and create new spaces to be audaciously financially successful.
