Personal Note:

Hi firstname,

I just received a call from Teresa with a question about Rick’s “Killer Business Presentation” program. Teresa has a lot going on right now in her life. She feels really stressed and said to me that her business “needs to work now.”

Folks you can’t hurry a business. Trying to hurry a business off the ground is like trying to get a two year old to be a five year old. The only thing that happens is everyone and everything around gets stressed out.

It never works. If someone needs money now, they need a job. Allow your business to grow just like you allow a two year old to grow. And allow yourself to grow too. Unless you’ve run a successful MLM business before, you need to learn about yourself, your business and the best way to run it.

That’s why so many refer to MLM as a personal growth program disguised as a business. And by the way, you can do this growth either “strategically” or via the college of hard knocks. Your choice! (One is faster than the other – and less costly.)

Teresa struggles with her company’s business presentation format. The bullets aren’t enough for her to make her own. Her specific question was whether or not Rick’s business presentation program would allow her to incorporate what her company has and still make it hers. The answer is simple: yes.

Rick will give you a format to follow throughout the short program and by the end you will have “filled in the gaps” between what you have now and a polished “Killer Business Presentation.” That is, of course, if you are coach-able and do the work! Click the Register Now button to save your spot for this action-packed 6 week program.

And read on for my 'business presentation from hell' story... may you never have a similar story to share! ;)

Warmly,

Featured Article...

You missed a great time on Monday if you weren’t on our call, Does Your Business Presentation Suck? with Rick Brake and myself.

Not only did Rick share with us the fundamentals of a successful business presentation but we heard some funny stories (well maybe not funny at the time but definitely in retrospect!) about nightmare business presentations.

Rick blogged recently about his nightmare presentation. If you want to read the whole story click here. But here’s a short clip from his blog piece:

"I remember well the first time I went to show my business. All I had was a canned presentation that belonged to someone else. I was terrified! I prayed they wouldn’t show up!

And guess what? They didn’t! I was so relieved but what a dilemma.  I knew I had to present to build a business yet I never wanted another appointment as long as I lived!"

How many of you have experienced something like this? Certainly I have.

I remember my business presentation from hell

There were about 30 people in the room. Most of them were guests! I lived in Lake Arrowhead CA, a small town. I knew most of these people personally.

Excel had a business presentation video. Anyone can do it right. Just pop in the video and push play. Only as I pop in the video and go to walk away it won’t play. The video was broken so I had to do the presentation myself (gasp!).

I was so scared as I was about to start, I got light headed, dizzy and thought I might be sick. Talk about stage fright. I did something I don’t typically do. I lied.

I thought I was going to pass out and rather than tell the room I was scared, I told them I thought I was getting the flu. I was so embarrassed, everyone jumped to help me. There were some, “Oh no” stories, “I just got over the flu it’s nasty.”

We found a flip chart and I actually sat in a chair while someone else turned the pages until I could get my cool back. I’ll never forget the night. It was a dreadful experience.

Like Rick I made up my mind right there and then to figure out what it took to do a good, fun (for me!) business presentation so others would like to hear it.

We heard some funny now but not – so- funny experiences at the time on our call. How about you? Do you have a nightmare business presentation story? Click here to share it on the blog. We will pick the top few stories to share in our next ezine, just for fun and so you know you aren't the only person with a horror story. ;-)

For those of you who missed the call Monday, yes, we recorded it. And it’s definitely worth a listen so go here to access the recording. Rick outlined the essential parts of a business presentation so it will flow and keep your listener’s attention.

He talked about “who” you need to be to give a business presentation either to one person or to a crowd. It’s always amazing to me that in the end it comes down to us. It actually makes things easier. The only person we have any control over is ourselves.

If you did miss the call I heartily suggest you listen to the recording. Rick was in the top 20 money earners in Excel Communications for years. (And that’s saying something, Excel was a huge company.) Rick is also one of the most laid back, never pushy guys you’ll ever meet. Yet, Rick learned to give a great business presentation and to close and close and close and never never be pushy.
